Hi,

My H1B visa is about to expire in coming November. Now I 'm trying to convince my employer to renew the H1B for me even though I got the EAD. Suppose they finally will renew the H1B for me but I leave for another company before the extension process completes.Will there be any issue with this ? Does the new company have to do both renewal and transfer for me ? What about if I got laid off before the renewal with the old company completes ?
 
No issue. New company has to do a H1 transfer - better do it before current visa expiry. you will get another 3 or 1 year depending upon the LCA.
You mean you are laid off before the current company renewal is approved by BCIS? Use EAD to switch jobs or do a H1 transfer.
