H1B Renewal Mumbai Consulate - Please Help

I appeared for H1B renewal at Mumbai Consulate on 26th feb 2008.

Basics questions were asked to me and my wife. VO gave the passport, 797, with a yellow 221(g) marked with Admisnistrative Processing option.

"Not In" was mentioned in the self addressed envelop and she told that an email will be send within a week for your visa to be printed. Please follow the instruction in the email. Also they put CWOP with ink on both the passports.

2 weeks are over but email not received so far. Should i assume that this is PIMS verification or something else?

Any information or tips will be really helpful.

Thanks

I am guessing CWOP = cancelled with out prejudice
I am not too sure what "not in" stands for. You both hold Indian passports right?

Yes both Indian passport.

I am trying to find out any numbers on which I can follow up my case with Mumbai consulate. Although I have sent an email to mumbaiNIV@state.gov but did not get any reply.

The wait is getting really frustrating, as we do not know the reason and expected time of the resolution. No additional documents were asked. Just checking on email every 2 hours.

Section 221(G) means, you have not been completely rejected. They need some further documents. If you provide them you will get your visa. That is what happened to me, some time back.

If you did not get an e-mail. Ask them to send it again, or send a letter by regular mail. The e-mail they sent may have gone into your trash box or so.

Ramesh.
