H1B Renewal / Extension

Currently employed in US with H1B granted upto June 2003. However, nature of job has changed. So my company has decided to apply for a fresh H1B instead of a renewal. Is is possible to do? If yes, what documents do they need? Will they need salary slips of the employee?

Yes, like a h1 transfer and a new H1 combined (i.e documents reqd for both process),Yes.
