h1b renewal and travel

my current H1B expires Feb 26, 2004. i received my application receipt (EIN no) from CA and am awaiting my renewal of H1B. i am planning to travel home during winter vacation.

1) can i travel back to the US on the 10th of
January (my present visa stamp expires on jan 21st) if i carry the renewal receipt (EIN no) and of course my present H1B approval?

2) if so, till when will my I 94 be valid upon re-entry?

i cant renew my visa stamp at a consulate as i am waiting for my approval. your help is appreciated.

----- if you have valid Visa stamp on passport you can travel back to US on 10 JAN if Visa stamp expires on 21 jan and if you have H1 approval notice till feb 2004(as you wrote above) then at POE you should show your passport Visa AND H1 approval notice that is valid till Feb 26,2004 you will get I-94 till feb 2004
