I am a third year IM resident on H1b and my residency completes in july. I currently have a job offer in nebraska. Nebraska requires completion of 3 years of post grad training for IMGs before they become eligible to apply for state license. I am under the impression that to renew my H1, I need to have license in the state that I intend to practice. How does this situation work? What will be my status after residency completion while waiting for the state license. Please any suggestion or experience will be graetly appreciated. I like this job offer very much and they are also willing to sponser green card for me. But I am confused and uneasy because of this issue. Thank you very much.
