H1B re-validation in India ( Mumbai Consulate )

Hello

My stamped H1B is getting expired on 13 th Oct -03.I have my approved H1B & I plan for India trip in Dec.I just want to ask that
Do we have interviews now, even when someone gets his visa re-validated ??I mean visa extension ?

Is that risky to go & get it stamped from India ?
Or is it more safe to mail your passport to St Louis, US for stamping ?This process will take 65/70 days.

I also have canadian immigration with me.Is it more easy to go & get my H1B stamping from there ?Whats the process ?

I would like to hear some suggestions /experiences here
