H1B Premium Processing Screw up

hello everybody,

My friend presently works in Australia as a S/W programmer.
I got his H1B premium processing done through my company
we receieved his H1B papers this week.

however, there is a small screw up.
In the section where you need to specify the Consulate
where the candidate will appear for the visa,
the lawyer has written "Chennai, India", while it should have been "Sydney, Australia"

Is this a serious screwup ?
what can be done to rectify this mistake.

I also heard that a copy of the H1B papers are sent to the consulate where you wish to appaer for the Visa.
so in his case, the papers might have gone to Chennai, India
what can we do to send the papers to Sydney, Australia instead.

thanks in advance,

You can do few things
1. Write a letter to chennai and request the approval notice be transmitted to Sydney
2. File i824 to do another consular notification to sydney (takes time)
3. Apply with sydney with H1B , letter from lawyer etc. They cannot cancel approved H1. Only thing they can do is deny H1 and direct the candidate to apply in chennai.
4. Apply in chennai.

thanks

jaxen2 thanks,

my company is going to file I-824 requesting a copy of the approved labor to be sent to sydney, aus.

also we have emailed a letter to the sydney, aus consulate, expalining the goofup & requesting them to let the beneficiary attend for his h1b visa at their consulate.

no reply from them so far.

thanks for your help.
