My friend is a s/w programmer in Sydney, Australia.
he has been living there since the last 1 1/2 years.
I filed for his H1B from my company & we got his approval.
However, in the column where we have to specify the consulate where the candidate will appear for his visa,
we have erraneusly filled "Chennai, India" instead of "Sydney, Australia".
We discovered this mistake after we got his approval.
We have filed I824 requesting that "Sydney, Austarlia" be notified of the Approval.
We have also mailed the Consulate at Sydney, Austarlia, requesting them to let this candidate appear for his visa there.
We didnot get any reply from them yet.
also it seems that the processing date for I824 is April'2002
so it might take a long time to get his I824 processed.
What other course of action can we take?
Can my friend apply for his visa at Sydney, Australia, with a letter from my company explaining the filing mistake ?
