I am on H4 currently and have an offer with a company to apply for H1B. I have a bachelor of Computer Engineering degree from India. And a 2 year Post Graduate Diploma in Communications Management (considered MBA in India) from India. Is it possible for me to apply for my H1B on basis of my PG degree since the job requires a Masters and the job is not connected to the field of my bachelor’s degree? Is it true that the Indian Post Graduate Diplomas are not accepted by INS even if they are credited by evaluation agencies?

Well...I don't think there are many universities in India offering MBA. It is mostly offered by independent B-schools. I did mine from MICA (Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad.)
Have you heard of PG diplomas from India being rejected before? Can u give me some more information on this. Coz my lawyer is totally depending on the evaluation agency and I am not sure if INS is going to accept that evaluation also or not.

First of all MICAshould have been accreditated by UGC and its governing bodies

Accreditation for higher learning is overseen by autonomous institutions established by the University Grants Commission:

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
Distance Education Council (DEC)
Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR)
Bar Council of India (BCI)
National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)
Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
Medical Council of India (MCI)
Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)
Indian Nursing Council (INC)
Dentist Council of India (DCI)
Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH)
Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM)

Then the course must be recognized by the same body. However you can send your credential to www.wes.org for an evaluation.

Hey..Thanks for your reply. I actually have already sent my degrees for evaluation. If it doesn't come up equal to Masters then Wouldn't go ahead and use the degree as Masters. But my concern is if the evaluation aganeyc does say that the degree is equal to Masters and I go ahead and submit the
H1B case basis Masters, is it possible that INS still won't accept it as MAsters?

I actually read this on some forum, that even if you get a educational evaluation agency saying your PGDBM/PGDCM is equal to Masters, the INS still wont accept! hence thats what I am tryin to ask if anyone has ever come across such a case or heard about it?
