H1B Issue

I have been working in a H1B status for more than a year by now. The prospects of employment with my current employer are becoming increasingly shaky. My question is whether there is a grace period allowed when a person in H1B status loses employment. In other words, is there a grace period for H1B status holder, who loses employment. What would you recommend to a person,if something like this were to happen? Thank you very much for your assistance.

No grace period at all.
