H1B extension

Hi

How many months in advance one can apply for extension
of H1b . Is it 6 months. Is it ok if we apply for LCA
before six month of H1 expiry.

in my case the LCA is valid upto Oct, 04 but
h1 is expiring in Apr 04. Can we get
LCA approval in Nov 03. That is six
months from the date of expiry of H1.
