H1B Extension

I transferred my H1B to some company and my petition is valid till Jul 2010. However my visa in the passport is till Sep 2009 which is from my old H1 holding company.

I am in US and don't know when to go for H1B extension. Is the extension date already gone?

Please advise.

if you have I-94 attached with your H1 transfer approval then you can stay and work till I-94 validity in US. I-94 is attached at Lower part of H1 transfer approval. when you go out of US you will need Visa stamp to enter US.
