H1B extension

would like to inquire about my remaining H1B visa extension, I only got 1 year & 4months remaining out of the 6 years. (I know the maximum is only 6 years)

My wife is a green card holder and already filed a petition for me I130. She can file a citizenship on Sept. 29,2005 on her 5th year as a Permanent Resident.

What are my options to extend my H1B? or is there anyway My Company can apply for a work extension permit until waiting for the approval of the pending petition from my wife; My Company is willing to file for an extension for my H1B? And if none of them could work, what are my other options? Would I be force to leave the country just in case?

Is there any Government amnesty under the new term of President George W. Bush for Non Immigrants that have lived here for 5 years that could apply for a Citizenship?

I need your expert advice on this matter. The thing that troubles me now is the thought of my H1B visa is now only valid for 1 year and 4 months. This might force me to stop from working here in the U.S

--- dont you have LC filed for you by ANY employer???? if you dont have let your employer file LC for you in 15-20 days, and it may hit 365 days BEFORE your 6 year on H1 expire and you will become eligible for 7th year H1 extension if LC is pending more than 365 days. If LC gets approved before 365 days then you can file I-140 and I-485, EAD AP and can also extend 7th year H1 if I-140 pending or I-485 pending
Regarding your wife being/ or applying citizenship you need to talk to good lawyer
This might force me to stop from working here in the U.S

Your wife can apply for citizenship 90 days prior to 5 years of residency. Depending on where you live that's likely to take a year or so, after which she can file for an adjustment of status for you.

It's unlikely that you I-130 will be approved in that timeframe. Your best bet is to continue on a H1 and make sure that your employer also files a labor application atleast 365 before the end of your 6 years, so that you can keep getting a 1 year (the 7th year) extension till your 130 gets approved, or your wife becomes a citizen OR maybe the labor/I-140 thru your employer may also be complete by then (caveat: based on where your employer will be filing)....

Good Luck,
