Hi

I will be filing for a H1b Extension (2nd 3 Year ). Any ideas on how long it is taking now to get an approval notice.

Also what happens if the First 3 year term expires and you have not received an approval notice?? Can you still work and get paid

before the expiry of the ealier approval notice u have to file your extension, after you receive receipt notice of the exptention, u can work and receive the payment.
If you are not opting for the premium processing, it would take 4 to 6 months to get the extension and renewal of your H1.
if you are opting for premium processing u can get the same within 15 days

To my understanding, you automatically get a 240 day extension once you file for an extension.
