H1B Extension Prcessing Time (RFE)

Hi,
My lawyer filed for my extension( Normal Processing) on Oct-30-2003 but I have not received any word on this from BCIS, Is this the normal ?
Secondly, If there is an RFE on the extension do I have to leave the country, I am not sure my lawyer sent the LC receipt(SWA ? should he have this ?) as proof , he seems to have only sent the certified mail receipt ?

---- check with your lawyer he may have recieved the H1 extension filing reciept

-------- if that was 7th year H1 extensin then lawyer was supposed to send the copy LC reciept from SWA as evidence that your LC was filed more than 365 days and still pending. How do USCIS will know on what basis lawyer is asking 7th year H1 extension if LC filing or I-140 pending or I-485 pending reciept is not attached?????
