Hi guys,

I'm going to go to Vancouver to extend my H1B. Does anybody have any information on this topic or may be somebody has an experience of getting visa in Vancouver?
Any kind of response would be very appriciated!

Thank you,

VK.

Hi SD,

Getting H1B extension in vancouver is pretty straight forward.
Get all the required documents.

Get an appointment using www.nvars.com web site

Get ready with all the documents:
1) H1 Approval Notice
2) Copy of I-129(4 pages) - Get attested/certified if possible
3) Copy of approved labor (ETA- Form)
4) Letter from your current employer indicating your current salary
5) All Previous H1 Notices
6) All I-20 ( If you went to school in the US)
7) Any Previous Statuses in the US if required( H4 F2 etc.)
8) Pay Stubs 5-6 atleast ( Very Important)
9) Previous W2 if any
10) Your degree certificates and transcripts.
11) All your training or diploma certificates

Once you make an appointment, the vancouver consulate will
send all the application forms or you can download them from the
web.

After the regular check in process and paying $100 fee
You will be given a number. Make sure you fill all the columns in the application(Write not applicable if you want to leave it empty)

When called tell the visa processing person that you are here to apply for H1B multiple entry visa and give all the required documents.

The lady over there is nice, She will ask for your H1 approval
Employment letter and check your Pay stubs with the salary mentioned on the employment letter.

She may ask general questions like your title, company, how long have you been in the US and may ask about your wife if your are married and finally she will ask for your degree certificate.

They are making sure you were never out of Status during your stay in the US

If she cannot issue a visa for any missing documents or something else she will sent you the visa officer.

99% of the time they issue the visa the same day at 3PM.

As long as you have all the required documents you won't have any problems with the visa.

I got my visa extended in Vancouver twice with no problems.

Good Luck!

Do you mean all entering and leaving records in my passport? Or they need copies of all my previous I-94's?
Do you think it would be a problem if I was paroled once (entered using AP, I've never changed my employer though)?

Re: H1B extension in Vancouver

Hi,

Copies of I-94 should be fine.
What they are looking for is continious legal status while you were in the US.
