H1B EXT - Stamping with I-485 PENDING

I am planning to get my H1B Ext stamped at Montreal.
I also have my EAD, I-131 advance payrole with I-485 PENDING.
I want to know whether my H1B Ext can be stamped or Can a person
can have both status at the same time (H1-B and Be on Adjustment of Status).
Couple of my friends are saying that you can't be in both status and there
would be problem while stamping H1B Ext. Is that true?.

You can get H1 stamped even if you have I-485 pending. There is no such restriction. I went to Toronto, Canada in Jan 2004 and successfully got H1 stamped. I have I-485 pending at VSC since April, 2003.
