H1b ext not stamp, i485 on proccess, but got ap - is it safe to travel outside US?

Urgent: need help badly. i read conflicting topics about this, now i'm confuse and dont know what to do.

i'm on an h1b extension til 2004, but it havent' been stamped/revalidated yet, but now i can't coz i think it has reach the revalidation limit of 1 year already. i have a i485 on process and i also have EAD and AP(still working thru my h1, same company).

Is it really safe to travel with this documents and status? what is the best status should i use when re-entering US. Will I encounter immigration problem.

No Problem

No Problem. Use h1, show H1 approval notice with old H1 stamp.
If you get time at home country get new h1 stamp to eliminate any doubt from your mind.

with an h1b extension, do i need to apply for a new visa or a stamp. whats the difference?
