H1B Expiring, no EAD

I got interviewed last month.

When the officer asked about my out of status wife, she gave me 3 choices.
"Is your wife a citizen, green card holder, or is it in progress?"

I answered its in progress, and she proceeded to ask me about something else.

Btw im a citizen now. I took my oath Dec 22. I just wish i got started on the paperwork for my wife earlier.
