H1B Expired, working on Receipt

Hi,

I am on H1B and working for a consulting Company for more than 3 years, My Company filed for my H1B extension 5 months back , My old H1B(I-94) expired last month and presently working on Receipt Notice. USCIS website still shows the status of my H1B as case received and pending. In this situation can I transfer to a new company and starting working for it?

Suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thank you very much for your valuable information. I read page 11 and 12 , so there is a possibility that if I transfer to company B then there is a chance of getting valid I-94 and start working for company B, is my understnading correct? feedbacks are very much appreciated

If pending "bridging" H1 didnot get denied, you have a chance to get H1 approved with B.
