Hi,
I have H1B visa and it will expire on May 6, 2009. I have EAD. I am still working under H1B visa and I want to leave my current employer but I want them to pay me flight ticket and relocation compensation to me because I am still under H1B. Even my visa will expire in 6 days, They have not applied to rene my visa. They know that I have EAD and today, they gave me Form I-9 to fill out.
What happened if I do not fill the form? What happened if I do not give my EAD to them. They are trying to get rid of me and they did not renew my visa and I want to get rid of them by paying me relocation compensation?

What are your recommendations?

Thank you
Michael

If you are on H1 status and they don’t have job for you then they need to provide you flight ticket so that you can go back home.
If you are on H1 status and you are leaving employer to work with other employer then present employer don’t have to provide you ticket.
If you sign form I-9 with EAD info and use EAD to work with the present employer then employer need not to give you Ticket if you want to leave them.

If your H1b is expired and you have not submitted an extension, but have approved I-140 and valid EAD can you continue working for the present employer?

In other words is valid EAD alone sufficient to work for employer despite having expired H1-b status?

--------------Yes as you have Pending I-485 and Valid EAD in hand.
