I have an H1B from a non-profit org. and plan to transfer to a company who will apply for a regular/capped H1B for me. When the new quota for capped/regular H1B opens on April 1st 2007, will I be eligible to start work immediately after the petition is filed by the company then or do I have to wait till Oct 1st 2007 to start work?
I have a masters degree and the application will be filed against the 20k quota.
