H1B ETA 9035 problem! Please Help.

Hi, I am currently under TN and it will be expired in August, 2007. I would like to apply H1-B this year in April, 2007. My employer is completing form 9035, my question is that as I already work for the employer how can there be a "begin" date for the start of the employment? We tried to put Oct 1, 2007 on ETA 9035E and it got rejected and said the employment date can no be 6 months away. I thought the effective date of H1b will be on Oct. 1, 2007??

It must be start date of H1 employment which is Oct 1 at the earliest.
Petition(And I believe LCA too) can be accepted 6 months prior to projected start date.. You can not do that now.
