H1B - EAD conflict

Our I-485 is pending with CIS. I am on H1B and my wife on H4 (obviously).

Can I continue to be H1B while my wife exploiting EAD while the I-485 pending adjudication? I was told that I should also use EAD for my wife to secure one. Is that right?

Your feedback will be very helpful because, I am considering to apply for AP and EAD in a couple of days.

You can keep using your H1 while your wife uses EAD based on her pending 485.
