h1b begin date(ETA 9035) question

I have F1 visa now,work for a company
and my CPT/opt will expire until March, 2003
My company will apply H1 for me now
SO can i put the begin date as 2-3 month later?

Is there any influnce on the process speed?
DO I really need to do that?
any suggestion?

while on OPT

tax benefits are better as compared to be on h1. Otherwise it takes about 3-6 months for a h1 to come thru.
The processing time is based on receipt date and not on start date.
