H1B and L1B

Hi All,
I have a H1B approved petitionbut have not attended visa intv.) filed by an another company valid from october 2007. The company i am working presently is filing a L1b for me.
If i travel on the L1b from my present company how long will my H1b be valid?
Can my parents accompany me when i am on L1b?

If you get your L-1 stamped and travel to the U.S. only your spouse and kids are eligible to travel with you. Your status will be L-1. However your H-1B approval notice is still valid and you can use that once you return to your home country and get the visa stamped.

You can sponsor your parents to visit you (on visitors visa) only when you are in the U.S.
