Hello,

I need some advice on how to proceed from here on.

I started working with my company on CPT while I was on my F1(Masters Degree) visa then I started working on OPT for the same company for an year now. My company decided to go ahead and do my H1B sponsoring. By the time all the paper work was put together we are afraid we might have missed the H1B advance degree 20,000 qouta. USCIS decided the cut-off date on July 26 2006 and we believe our application was recieved on 28th July. What are my options here

1. My company needs me to continue working at our offices as I am deeply involved in developing/maintaining some of the core assets of the company.

2. My OPT expires in Oct 2006.

3. Are there any other kind on visa's I would become eligible for??

4. I still did not recieve any notification from USCIS nor the check was cashed so far!!

Please advise alternatives, if any. Thanks for your time.

I am afraid you cannot apply for a H1 this year. What you can do is apply for a H3 visa, the requirements of which are a little bit different. I think the quota for H3 visas is only 50 per year. So you might want to find out about it. If a H3 is not available, the only other option would be to telecommute across countries.
