H1b 6yrs date or I94 date, which is valid?

I came to US in april 1999 and so my 6 yrs will be completed in apr 2005. However my current H1B I 94 is valid till 06/2005.

Which date is primary for status, the end of 6 yr period or the date on current I 94?

generally yes. but you may be able to get additional time depending on time spend outside usa.

However my current H1B I 94 is valid till 06/2005.
possibly your employer would have claimed the time spent outside usa. check with your employer or attorney.

depending on how uscis issued till 6/2005. if its by mistake then its better to stay till april 2005. even if its uscis mistake its better for you to be on the right side. you may not know that uscis will blame you later.

you dont have to worry much for this issue. talk to your employer. mostly the 6/2005 date is legitimate.

you need to count 6 years from your entry date to US, if you find that employer/lawyer asked for that date on H1 extension OR if you find it is USCIS mistake then I will file for 7th year H1 extension BEFORE you hit 6 years(if you are eligible for 7th year)
