I came to USA Mid July, 1998 and so 6 years are going to be
over on Mid July, 2004. However I lost job in 2000 and applied
and got temporary B1 visa (with I94). Then I found a job
and my employer (I am still working with them) filed for new
H1 and I got it (with I94). This H1B and I 94 is valid till
Mid November, 2004. Exact 4 months more than the date it should
have been, given that 6 years is to expire on Mid July. Now
the last day of my last company ( since I lost my job, my H1 from
that company is also invalidated that day, right?) and the day
my H1 applied for my current company is exactly 4 months
apart.
My question is, that I got 4 months more in H1B, is it because
I went to B1 visa for 4 months? OR the lawyer of current
company goofed it up. To put it other way, can I work in
USA till the date on my H1B and I-94?
I really need to know this asap. I appreciate your help a lot.
