H1approved:Is Travel to India before applying for SSN possible?
My wife was on H4 but got it converted to H1B while she was staying is US. Currently we have not aaplied for her SSN.
Due to a family emergency she needs to go home .
Do you think it is possible to go to India and come back on H4 visa before applying for SSN and later when she comes back can she apply for SSN and start working on H1. Would it create issues when she is coming back, like would she require to get her H1B visa stamped (she does not have any paystubs etc as she has not started working yet).

----------if she has I-94 attached with her H1 approval notice she can apply SSN. go to SSA office fill up the form

---------------if she enter US on H4 status with H4 visa then she will NOT be on H1 status. she needs to get H1 visa stamp then enter on H1 status if she wants to work
