H1 Visa Stamping CANADA -------- Canadian PR

Hi All,

As, we are noticing, lots of people are getting rejected or directed by the US embassy in Canada to go to their home country for visa stamping. But, if you are a canadian PR then Canada is your home country. In that case, things might be different..what are we suppose to do?
Do you guys think , canadian residents who are applying for H1 visa re-validation/stamping has better chances of getting thier visa stamped or they are facing the same difficulty.

I started this new thread to address/discuss all the issues related to the a Canadian PR when he goes for visa stamping.

Please post your experience if you are a canadian PR and already got your visa stamped from Canada.

BTW, my appointment date for H1 revalidation is Feb'14 at Toronto consulate.

Misuse of Can Pr

The purpose of your CAN PR is for you to be a PR in Canada not to make it easy for you to get a H-1 visa to the states.

Now for your question-is it difficult or easy to get H1 after your PR status in Canada.

It is not difficult but the questions you get at the embassy in terms of your job and company are going to be the same. Equally important is if you are working in Canada or just using the country as a transition back to the States.

Personally I believe this loophole should be stopped but until the democratic process works in that direction I hope your question has been answered.

Want to do first time H1b stamping or auto revalidation .Having canada PR

I came here in USA with L2 visa, had my L2 stamped from (Mumbai,Chennai,New Delhi) successfully, worked on EAD.
Later transfered my L2 to H1B and working for past 1+ yr after that never went outside USA. I have W2,paystubs, all my education in India [ MCA ] and have all relevent docs. My company size is 20+ .

I am going for canadian PR in March 2006, After my PR status in canada I am planning to do one of the options :-

1. AVR [30 days Auto Revalidation ] - I want to check if anyone out there tried this option entered successfully Using expired L2 or any non immigrant visa not H1B,original H1B-I797,Valid I94 .I don't want to lose my current project, as I heard that some times people may get stuck with 221g or other security check while H1B stamping.

2. H1B Stamping at Calgary - Anybody successfully got there first H1B [earlier had Valid L2 or any non immigrant valid visa not H1B,having all education in India and having Canada PR] stamped easily. Any experiences/information to share.


Kindly share real experiences and guide.
