h1 visa stamping delay due to having a common name

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone would have some information on the following issue.

My fiancee works in US and his company has sponsored his H1. When he went to India to get his visa stamped, he was told that his name is very common and that they are getting many profiles with this name. They would also run checks on his name and his fingerprint.
It has been more than a month and there is no progress on this issue.

If anyone knows how this process can be expedited or helped, please let me know.

same problem of visa delay with my spouse

Hi Swati,
This is Manish From Univ of Arizona. My wife has the same problem that her visa stamping got delayed due to common name which requires fingerprinting procedures. I am concerned as in some cases this takes lot of time and she has her school starting pretty soon. I will be highly grate ful if you can provide me with info as to normally how long does this procedure take and if there is a way to expedite it.
