H1 visa stamping at UK ..please help

Hi - I recently changed my job and my new employer is processing my H1 transfer. Meanwhile my sisters wedding got fixed on Aug 21st. I have to attend the marriage at any cost.

When I consulted with my companies law firm doing my H1 transfer, they suggested me the following things ..Need to know whether this will work out well.

1. Do a premium processing to get my H1 approval papers in a couple of weeks and travel to India and attend the Wedding.

2. My company has their branch in UK and they suggested me to go to UK from India after the marriage on a business visa stating that I've come to UK for a company meeting.

3. Get the visa stamped in UK and come back to US.

My company manager has approved for getting me a UK business visa and they will get an appointment at the US Consulate in UK.

Will there be any problem in taking this route. Please advice and let me know a good way to do this. I couldn't get a appointment at the Canada or Indian consulates at this time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

------------------ go for premium processing so that you have H1 approval in hand with I-94 attached. you did not post if you have valid visa stamp with name of past employer, if you have valid H1 visa stamp then you can enter US with that valid visa stamp and at POE show your valid Visa stamp and new H1 approval notice and you will get new I-94 at POE till your new H1 approval notice.
