H1 Visa from Toronto

I am a Landed Immigrant in Canada fro the past 5 years. I was on H1 and then moved to Canada for a few years. I got another H1 last Feb and moved to US. I did not need visa and my wife got visa in India (H4) Now with new laws for Landed Immigrants to get visa I plan to take off from work for two days and go back to Toronto to get Visa. ( As a landed immigrant I never needed visa in my earlier stays on H1)

The problem is that I have been told that now they may take 30 days for security clearence for visa. I have appt in Toronto Consulate for Apr 16th but I surely cannot take off from work for 30 days. I am going to India for vacation. Would it be better to get visa from India.

Please assist asap.

30 day clearance is not required for indian nationals, as long as your area of operation does not come under the 16 sensitive technologies.

Hi! Sandeep-

For a landed Immigrant is it better to apply for re-validation from Home country or he should apply from Canada first & then try at Home Country or Vice-versa?

I am planning to travel to my Home country & want to re-validate my H1 B Visa from Canada or from Home country.
