H1 Visa Extension

Hi,

My H1 is getting expired in Oct 2005. This is my first H1 visa from Oct 2002 to Oct 2005 and I plan to apply for visa extension with the same company.
I have been in US for only 1 year till today. Does the amount of stay in US affect the visa extension?

You are eligible for 3 yrs extn + 2 more yrs to catch up 6 yrs limit
