H1 Visa after 3 year renewal

Hi,
My current H1B expires in July 2006, and so does my Visa. My company will be applying for another 3 year renewal for my H1B. After I have received my approval for the renewal, can I get the Visa extended in US? I know if I do not leave the US I don't have to get the Visa stamped. And whenever I go to India next I need to apply for the Visa. But if I want to go out of US to a country other than India, how can I get my Visa extended?

Any help is appreciated.

Your "status" will be updated beyond original H1 period if H1 renewal was approved. When you enter the US after original H1 period is over, you need visa stamp. You can try US counsulate in any country, but if visa stamp is denied, you most likely have to go to your home coutnry to get visa stamp.
