H1 validity after 12 years

I am on my 11th year on H1 visa, I still havent filed my 485(date is not yet current). One of my friend mentioned to me that after 12years of H1 I have to go back. But based on my I140 i have extension till 2012. That is beyond my 12 years. Is this true that I should go back to India next year.
