H1 transfer

My new employer (non-profit organization) will be filing my H1 transfer petition soon. I haven't seen the petition but I assume they have to put in a start date. Say, they put a start date of Nov 12th and the H1B approval comes in by then but my current employer (for profit company) doesn't release me until Nov 19th. Does this create a problem (working for old employer beyond Nov 11th)?

I don't want to inform my current employer until I get the H1 receipt and will have to give atleast a 2 weeks notice (could be 3 weeks as well) and this can create a timing issue.

It is depends on your employment agreement with your sponser. Read the contract now.
