H1 Transfer woes

Hello all-

I have some questions with H1 transfer. Suppose if I get another job - and my prospective employer decides to file for my h1 transfer - how soon can I start working at the new place?

Is it possible to start working at the new place as soon as the application has been filed or does one have to wait for the receipt #.

Another doubt was that - until I receive the receipt #, am I allowed to continue to work for the old employer. This may also include the 1 week - 10 days notice period that is given before moving.

In short I want to find out what is the procedure to follow in between 2 jobs i.e. once the transfer appeal has been filed. Should I stop working at the current employer - or can I work here till my notice period expires.

The reason why I am asking is that - I will only inform my current employer once my H1 transfer receipt arrives. After that I will work for a week and then move on to the new job.

Can some experts advise me on this. Thanks in advance!

--after you get H1 transfer filing reciept from USCIS

----- wait till he gets reciept in his hands

-- yes if you have valid H1 with them.
This may also include the 1 week - 10 days notice period that is given before moving.

----appeal ????? why appeal ??
Should I stop working at the current employer - or can I work here till my notice period expires.

---that is correct, be with them till you get H1 transfer filing reciept in hand
After that I will work for a week and then move on to the new job.
--- that is OK
*** make sure new company employer file it as H1 transfer( many file NEW FRESH H1), provide recent 2-3 pay stubs copy

Can some experts advise me on this. Thanks in advance!
