H1 Transfer when still working on the old visa

Can I transfer H1 when still working with the curr company?

I will be moving to a new job after 3 months. My new company is willing to transfer my H1 right now, 3 months before I actually start working for them.

If I go ahead with the transfer, what happens to my H1 with my current company? As I still have to work for 3 months with them on this visa.
After the transfer can I still legally work with my current company?
Will my current company know that I am transferring/transferred my visa? I do not want them to know.
