H1 Transfer Procedure

Hi!
I am currently on H1 visa and am looking to change my job to a new company.

The lawyer i used to get my H1 tells me that the process and fees to get my H1 transferred to a new company is the same as applying for a new H1. Is this true? I am under the impression that the transfer process is much simpler than getting a new H1.

I would appreciate any help!

Thank you

Procedure and fees are same for both transfer and new H1

Do I need to go for stamping again if i changed my employer?

Hello Mr Webmaster

I am a new user. I wanted to post a thread so that I could get some help from other members regarding my question. But didn't know how to post a new thread and so thought you might answer my question regarding H1 transfers and all more than anybody. So can u pls pls help me with my question?

I got my H1B with a company on Oct 1st 2006, and i didn't go for stamping yet. I am planning to go for stamping in may. My question is, after I go for stamping can i transfer my H1B to another company, If so do I need to go for stamping again for the new employer? I have heard from many people that there is a new law, that we need to go for stamping if we change the employer even though our visa is not expired. Can you please let me know how true is that information. I hope you won't dissappoint me. I registered for this forums with great hope.

Thanks in advance
