H1 Transfer along with Extension! Urgent Please!

I am working with my current employer A for the past 2Years. My H1 is valid till March 10th 2008.
I have applied for my H1 transfer through a New Employer on 25th of Jan 2008
I got my receipt number from my new employer.
It is applied in Vermount service center.

My current employer wants to apply extension for my H1 visa. Can I apply for H1 transfer with a new employer & H1 extension with the current employer parallely?

Is the receipt number enough to stay in US even though my I94 gets expired on March 10th 2008 ( provided I get an RFE)

You can apply for multiple H-1Bs once approved, get the visa stamped for the desired H-1B, at a U.S. consulate. This will definitely override the extraneous H-1Bs.
