Hi,
I have this question on the H1-B 7th year(extension year) or after completion of 6 years, what will happen if the employer fires someone who is in the 7th year awaiting LCA which was filed 16 months back?
Is it possible for a H1 transfer to another company at that time which is willing to file for GC or do they have to leave the country?
Will appreciate any feedback.

LCA is filed for H1b I hope you are asking about LC that is first step of Green Card, if you change employer or the employer fires you then you can not port that LC to other employer but if the LC is still pending and the employer does not with draw that LC you can get 8th year H1 extension based on LC pending more than 365 days you need evidence that LC for you was filed and still pending .

----- You can join other employer on H1 to H1 transfer and new employer can file new LC for you. One can have many LC pending or filed for you by different employers .GC is for future job.

Just want to be clear on the last question for H1 to H1 transfer to another company which is will to sponsor for GC.

Sorry for redundency in questions here, just wanted to figure out the law, for being in status if a possible layoff happens while the LC is not cleared and the person is in the extension period.

----- your question is not clear, if you are on 7th year H1 and working and have recent pay stubsand have 7th year H1 approval notice with you then you can transfer H1 with different company
 
I think you have answered my question as I was in the impression that a person cannot do a H1 transfer to another company(willing to process GC) while on an extension year of H1, if he or she is fired in the process of waiting for LC.
