I am presently employed and have applied last week for change of status from H1 to H4 based on my husband's H1. Due to circumstances, I would like to quit my present job at the earliest date possible, my question is: can i quit as soon as I have applied for H4 change of status (now)? or
should i wait for INS' confirmation notice that it has received my H4 application?
or should i wait till i get the H4 approval notice?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Since you have your husband to back you up (H4) you can quit the job. For change of H1 to h4, you no need of pay stub. ( Imagine the situation, if the comapny fires you now, what will you do? same situation now you want to fire the company and quit. if you do not have H4 back up, you can not quit)
