H1 to H4 status

My current H1 expires next year;I would complete 6 years at that time & am not eligible to extend beyond that period.Is it possible for me to transfer to H4 & continue to reside here ?? Also is it possible to re-validate my visa here in USA w/o going to home consulate for stamping ?? Please help.

The total time(added together) for both the h1b & h4 is 6 yrs.

If you have filed GC & labor pending for 1yr or i140 applied then you can extend.

If you complete your 6 years on H status (H1 and H4 included)you have to leave the country.

You cannot change to H4. You can change to F1 if that helps you!

If you apply for your Labour one year prior to H1 6 years expiration then you get 7th year extension.
