I was on H1 but had to leave the job for unplanned reasons on Nov 11th 2005. I applied for conversion to H4 ( was previously on H4) based on my husbands employment by completing the 1539 form and documents and sent it out by 21st Nov05. Explained in the form that the end date was Nov11th and it was unplanned.
I got the H4 approval notice on the 10th of Feb with H4 valid from 3FEb06 to until my husbands I797 is valid.
My question is what is my status from Nov 11th 2005 to 03Feb06??? Why did the approval notice not have a valid date from 12Nov05? I had clearly stated that in the form. I have not left the country.
Do I have to do anything now? When applying for GC would this be a problem.
