H1 to H4 conversion

I need some suggestion on the following.

I came to USA on H4 visa. Then i received My H1b petition but did not work ( i did not get any paystub) till now. My H4 visa is expiring next month . I want to clarify whether i am out of status since my petition is approved or I can still extend my H4 which i hold .

Just to be clear of any RFEs, You need to get a new H4 i94 to extend H4 without any issues. Since you received the H1 I94, you might be asked to produce paystubs when you do a H4 extension with H1 information.

Just visit the border and get a new I94 using the H4 stamp.

I have i 94 of previous h4 visa. i did not go out of USA yet.I am planning to submit maternity vacation and prolog the vacation as the reason to change my status to H4 again. Will it work since i can show doctors letter and child birth certificate as proof. ????
