H1 to H4 and stamping

Hi,

I came to USA on H1 thru company A. Then I changed my company and I was laid off. So immediately I got converted to H4.
Now again company A has processed my H1 but they do not have any projects and I have not joined the company.

My Visa stamp(H1) expired in Jan 2002. If I have to go to India and return what are my options?

1. Can I get H4 stamping in India? In that case will there be any problem for my H1? will my H1 becomes invalid?

2. If I go to India and get H1 stamping I will be out of status once I come back and if company does not find a project for me.

What is the best thing I can do in this situation... Please help.

1. yes. Good likelihood of getting the H4 stamp. Yes H1 will be cancelled.

2. Unable to understand the question or the scenario described.

My question is what are the options I have to reenter this country.

If I get H1 stamping in India and come back and if company can not find me a project I will be out of status.

If I get H4 stamping will my H1 be invalid(?). So I need to process new H1?
