H1 to GC - marrying a US citizen

I have been on H1 for about 1.5 years. I will be marrying my financee this winter, who is a US citizen. All this time I didn't apply for a GC because we both knew that it will take much shorter if I applied thro her.

We will be filing I-130 and I-485 concurrently. When could I file for EAD and Advance Parole? As I am from NJ, how long would it take to get the EAD after filing? Once I get my EAD, could I change employers based on the new EAD or should I wait until the I-485 is approved?

I tried to read many forums but didn't get clear answers to my questions. I will really appreciate any advice and insights. Thank you so much!

Hope you know that you should send all your forms to the chicago lock box

You are eligible to file both with your I-485

Look at the EAD timeline table here. http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=187359

An approved EAD gives you the freedom to work for anyone.

Im sure it took you two minutes to write up this post. That is exactly the time it takes to search this forum the right way and get all the answers you need. All the questions you asked have been answered way too many times here

Ari4u, thanks a million for the answers! Trust me, I tried until my head started to hurt. I read every possible forum and googled as much as possible. Maybe I just didn't know what to search for and absorb all the information. Am already overwhelmed with all the new legal lingo.

Thank you so much!
