H1 to F1

Plz let me know if its possible to change status from H1 to F1 . If yes what are the chances of getting the approval ? How much time does it take in california ?

Thanks for your reply . could you tell me what are the factors that come in the way for status change. I have been working ever since i got my H1 and now since i want to study full time i want to change to F1 . What care do i need to take to see to it that everything goes smoothly.
